Started this one 2 days ago, and a bit concerned of the colour of
the floss- crescent colors Chalk. It has a "dirty" look to it. Will keep going

Too hot, I want rain and cooler temps please. Now is good!!

Even with the air con on its hot and I can't stitch.

My Sunday off and i planned to sit and stitch..but it's too hot.. Did I whinge about that already ?

And I just have been browsing the tv channels and I missed Miss Potter..the story of Miss Beatrix Potter. it has 20 mins to go. :-(

Oh hang on I have her autobiography..maybe I should read instead of stitch..

Fun Australia Day

Yesterday Seb & I went to the

soccer at AAMI Park, Melbourne.

Melbourne Victory Vs Sydney

1st stop was lunch, and no little

common bakery with

crappy food..

Laurent Pattisserie

was it.

Sebs toasted ham & bechamel sauce

pastry

my chicken & leek pie

both were very delicious..

then he wanted 2nds ...

his apple danish

my strawberry tart ..

then onto the soccer.

It was Australia Day so they

had an Australian citizenship ceremony there

before the game.

then Seb nearly fell out of his chair when he saw..

(For those who dont know who he is

He is a retired Australian football (soccer) player He represented Australia 17 times and played for English Premier League clubs Aston Villa, Manchester United and Chelsea.)

Then after the national athem..

which gives me chills down my spine

when the whole crowd 2o573 to be exact ..lol

I really enjoyed the day out with Seb

and love watching the games.

This is a memorial plaque for Andrew,

Leticia was aboard the Prince of Wales

who was sentenced to 14 years transportation for

stealing 10 yards of printed cotton.

and embarked from Porthsmouth England

3rd May 1787

They were married 2nd March 1790

at Port Jackson.

They were then transported to Norfolk Island, then again to

Hobart Tasmania where they settled.

So without Andrew my family might not be here.

And interesting Leticia stole cotton

I have always wondered if she was a seamstess

The fab 3 - Helen Coral & Lissy

came down to me today.

there was an 1850's embroidery exhibition

and we were going to have a look.

Started out with morning tea..

Red Velvet cake

she sent me 3 boxes of this cake mix ..thankyou xx

Then after a 2 1/2 hour catch up

headed out for lunch to

a small little cafe.

such a warm and beautiful day we found a

table in the shade and ate.

We were handed these golden books ..HUH ????

they were the menus ...

if you read closely..last item

we ordered 4 ...lol

but changed our minds and ordered the

yankee wagyu cheese burger instead ...

sounded devine and when it arrived

we looked at each other ..

what ???

it was tiny..see the sauce satchet beside it ..

it was a "slider" or mini burger

it was very tasty and we enjoyed it.

by time we finished catching up over

lunch it was too late for the exhibition ..

whe the 4 of us get together its chatter, laughter & food..

so back home for afternoon tea

provided by lissy..

small chocolate eclairs & the biggest

vanilla slice..

another good day out together even if we did

miss the exhibition ..

oh and another thing..

i brought an ornament tree.

I have wanted one for a while

and never saw one I liked..until now

I saw the photo, really liked the design

so ordered it over the internet.

ok so I didnt read the measurements ...

on how tall it was ....

yes its tall, if you look carefully on the

2nd tier from the top

there are a pr of small gingher scissors

hanging from the branch..

think its going to take a while

to fill it ...

or make it into an "everything " tree

I am after this chart, it's by Just Nan, and its Noah's sampler reborn
It was an exclusive kit to silver needle in 2006 or 8 I think.

It's for one of my dearest friends ( Helen of Fab 4 fame ) who's daughter is having a little boy and naming him Noah.

The Fab 4 are on a mission to track it down for her and her little grandson , who will also be adopted by the the Fab 3 as their little boy xx

My inner gymnast appeared this morning while stepping in the shower. One foot went 1 way, the other stayed put, and the splits were almost complete. The after affect is now 1 very sore bottom of butt and hip, and wrist where I hit the shower screen...OUCH!!
No more fancy tricks from now on lol

A day out ..

its still the summer school holidays

here and today was a warm one.

we decided to head to Melbourne

for the day.

1st stop was

go kart racing ..

Mad started off by getting out the pit

and hitting the tyre barrier...but it got better

to the point where she was a little speed

demon, and at one corner overlapping Seb

almost did a 360 turn and got herself back

the right way and off she went.

then into the city of Melbourne

The $40 million ferris wheel in the photo

is at Docklands - Victoria Harbour

it is almost 120m high,

around 38 storeys into the air featuring 21 air-conditioned glass cabins

that showcase views stretching as far as Geelong.

Pity its half build as in

January 2009

excessive heat over a few days had buckled some bracing members.

April 2009

The Southern Star Observation Wheel - as its called now

was temporarily closed , and as a result of extensive design and technical reviews a conclusion was reached to build a new wheel.

The materials were imported and thought not to be up to Australian weather conditions standards.

December 2011

The redesigned and partly rebuilt wheel started spinning for about a week ,then due to high winds

breaking a winching arm, sending bolts flying and scattering workers.

So ..as you can see..its still

there and being built ..

Once it gets going again, I dont think

I want to be the 1st to ride it.

We parked at Victoria Harbour

had lunch,

then they have a small amusement park..we have been

there before and both Mad & Seb are up for any rides

and then they saw Aqua Balls..

they had a ball, and didnt want to

get out ..

then onto the dodgems ...

Then into the actual city

for some retail shopping..

well for Mad anyway ...lol

I went to work today early as I was refunding Sebs shorts which I brought in September and won't go over his butt.!!

that child needs to stop growing for a few months ..lol

Anyway... when finished the girl said there was a present for me from a customer..

Omg a stink bomb or something ? Lol

No it was from a lady who had an iPod with a damaged screen, small chip in it. we couldn't do anything, so I gave her Apples customer relations number and the store details ,she came in a few weeks later and said she contacted them and they are replacing it.

She was so happy and wanted to tell me and thank me for helping her out.

She left me the present as a Thankyou..

A huge tin of quality street chocolates.

I wasn't sure If i could keep it..company policy, but the store manager said I should.

So now which one to scoff first. The green triangle or yellow stick..

There are nice people out there,

and today I felt good and was really

proud that someone thought of me

being kind & helpful...

Milos burying techniques..

need refining a little ..

whenever he gets a treat / bone

he wont eat it straight away but will

bury it. So we try and stop him from

going outside and have it covered in dirt,

then try and bring it back in.

He doesnt dig the garden beds, but ever so gently

buries them in my potted plantes under

the pergola. You never know he has

done it, as there is never any dirty spilt out.

you only notice something strange when you

water the plants..

But when inside he still wants to bury it,

we all have a good laugh at where he

noses the item into the carpet, bean bag, couch, chair..not bones thou lol

this is his latest hiding spot, and of course

we cant see it ... !!

opps..maybe someone can see it..

so a safer spot...

with electrical plugs....lol

Its been nice knowing you,

but glad you are leaving....

The year hasnt been too bad for me, but

for 2 of my dear friends, its a year

that they would like to forget.

Me ... well nothing exciting happened,

we are all healthy, happy & I have a job I like.

There have been a few ups & downs

mainly disappointment in people and their actions ....

but I cant change that.

So moving on with what I love and what makes me happy.

Now about our party poppers at Christmas.

about 15 years ago we started this "tradition" ..
We stick a strawberry & cream lolly on the end of the popper, then pull . The lolly then flies thru the air and someone on the otherside of the room tries to catch it in their mouth...

Yes choking hazard big time !!

kids are not allowed to do it,

they can catch it and all wear goggles .
Last year my brother Chris made a board that held 50,

this year they have upped the challenge between Chris, my cousin Shane, uncle and Sebs dad Jon

tonight we have 16 here for a bbq tea, then we have

the $2 santa gift,very crappy ones given out

by the blown up santa...

some are sleeping over, then we will

have all 18 of us here for breakfast.

my uncle will slice the ham off the bone and we all have it on toast.

its been a family tradition for a very long time.

now the kids are getting into it, lining up

for there ham on toast, and choc milk..

then its present time ...

and all will be here for our traditional

hot lunch of ham, turkey, roast pork & chicken,

pickled pork. roast vegies galore, carrots, cauli, brocolli, beans

then my mums home made christmas pudding with

custard...and of course a coin or 2 in it..

then the party popper challenge..more details & photos later.

its going to be..well lets just say i have the fire extinguisher ready...

Corals Christmas tree bikkies

One of my Fab 4 besties Coral

makes these bikkies every christmas since her boys

were little. She uses jelly tots on them. We have

been on hunting expeditions for them

on our fab 4 days out.

I found Jelly tots here...

so she shared the recipre with me

Seb wants to give a plate to his

Proud mum brag time...

Seb got his end of year report tonight, he is in grade 4.
they have a grading system that the majority of kids get C's, as it's the standard they should be at the time time reports are done.

Seb got 9 C's for English subjects - reading listening writing , communication. Thinking , civics etc

1 B for science - which is above the standard expected.

AND

6 A's for maths - which is well above the standard expected.

He is doing grade 6- yr 7 maths...

and I admit I don't think he takes after his mother in the maths gene pool .. Lol

He might just get what he wants for Christmas now ...lol

Madeline's report is delayed due to printing problems, I did ask if she had hidden it, but we got a note home explaining why, she is the English whizz...

A day in Bendigo

not shopping, but a

soccer tournament for Sebs

SAP program he was selected for.

The Wimmera region

held a day and off we went.

Left at 7.30am with huge supplies of water, food & sunscreen.

It was stinking hot, windy,

and the place we went to is under construction

so heaps of dust..therefore

dust storms ...YUKKK.

my least favourite things..heat, wind, dust ..

He played 3 games, and kicked 1 goal

in the last game, and had a great time.

I was so proud watching him as he played in

a team 2 years older than him and he did very well.

arrived home just after 8pm,

there was a demand for the shower as we

were all covered in dust, sweaty, stinky - especially Seb lol

and sunburnt.

I am postitve they need to bring out a factor 100 in sunscreen

for me, I lathered it on all of us, kids are a tinge red..

me... my arms and neck look like a beetroot ..lol

It wasnt for Manchester United

but it was still great.

WELL SORT OF .....

I have put up the kids stockings and other

bits & pieces on the dresser,

and the tree up ...and this

I need to fan out the branches, and I hate that job.

and then I need the ladder to put on the star

and lights,then i can do the decorations.

Mad wanted the big cupcake again

after finally getting to sleep at 2.30am :-)

we played silly games

inbetween them having the music blarring

and dancing ..

one was a piece of bubble gum on the bottom

of a plate, then covered in

whipped cream - we got the tin stuff ..

they then had to find the gum, and 1st to blow

a bubble won..

between the giggles and cream everywhere

they had a great time

the 13th birthday celebrations

are almost over.

pancakes with ice cream, fresh strawberries, maple syrup

Last Thursday Helen came down for

a few days,

We ate, drank, shopped & stitched...

Thursday was just a relaxing afternoon

catching up with each other ..

Friday after dropping the kids at school,

we headed to the local embroidery guild exhibition.

It was small, but quite a few displays

that were nice.

We both picked up this christmas ornament.

I'm thinking of putting candy canes in it

then off to

Paritz Cafe for morning tea..

iced coffee & this Brest

it was HUGE ..Helens iphone is beside it

for size..

Then to the quilt shop ..

and we scored bargains..

we cant quilt , so we buy ..

I picked up this Christmas one for my wall.

Just need to get some dowl to hang it.

Then out to lunch, spotlight, school pick up

then back home for tea..and a drink..

Saturday we started with French toast for breakfast

we then stitched all day,

roast pork..heaps of crackling and vegies for dinner.

then we watched Muriels wedding..

such a great Aussie movie..

Sunday our last day of stitching

suggestion, I made it into a

No Sew Cube.

OMG ..these are brilliant, who-ever came up

with the idea is fantastic

and deserves a gold star

i got out and kitted up LHN "christmas baking"

but remembered I had this heart

all ready to stitch.

I had some rich purple perle

so used that.

I love this, and will be making

this post is a mish mash of things.

First up is Seb, he had his soccer team

presentation last night.

Pizza for tea, presentation of trophies & awards

and a game against the parents ..

It was pouring and I mean pouring/belting down rain

and thunder & lightning

but they played a game ..NO i didnt go out

my hair would have looked terrible later ..lol

they put on the outside ground lights and played

for 40 mins .. all came in soaked ..

but all had a great time ..

pizza was delayed as the pizza shop lost power ...

but we finally did get it 2 hours later ..

Presentation of the trophies next.

Seb won the

2011 Best & Fairest.

they were all awared certificates and medals,

and 4 players trophies ..

He was quite proud of himslelf.

The club has their big

presentation day in October.

but they werent available when we were there,

caught up again in Mebourne yesterday.

1st stop was

Laurent Boulangerie Patisserie

Little Collins St.

this place is becoming our meeting place

and of course we have to have a macaron or 2 ...

Helens breakfast at the back

mine at the front

Mango -passionfruit macaron & french custard filled donut

& coffee.

After this, we then headed to Morris & Sons - another place we visit

only a strand of DMC purchsed there.

then onto Myer .. I was looking for

a new loose powder by MAC, neither Myer or David Jones had it :-(

but Coral & Lissy got there glamour products ..

after that on to Brunetti's on the 3rd flr at Myer

for lunch..which was rather healthy for all of us

salad in some form ...

then walked to Flinders st, over the walk bridge,

then to Crown Casino,

no not to gamble but eat

Gelato ..

Tutto Bene

think this might be a regular on our places

to go list ..

we all the the most beautiful gelato

mine was

Cookies, Tira misu & chocolate

you could eat & eat this stuff ...

then back to the city centre to head on home.

Enjoyable day as always..

Until 5pm when I get the train home, which should take just over an hour.

4.50 no train,
4.55 we are told to move from platform 8 to 11 and catch the metlink to werribee..

we stop at several stations, some I have never heard off, then to werribee 1 hr later

we are told to depart and walk out of station and buses will be waiting...
nothing ..no train or bus, so about 200 of us are just standing around.
7.10pm another announcement that the 6pm Geelong train which was delayed

will stop but only for elderly & small children to get on as it's over crowded.

I finally get picked up at 7.20ish and by time I get my car home at 8.30pm

The rail employees at werribee said they had no idea what was going on and it wasn't their problem. Ok maybe not their problem, but

it would have been nice to have any info.

and while waiting A divvy van pulled up , 1 policeman got out, then a few minutes later 4 are pulling a scrawny skanky lady, I think in her 40's up the ramp and shove her into the back.. She screaming f this f that, they tell her to shut up and get in...

One had her bags,she has 2 big ones , and they tipped it out on the ground.. We could see all of it clearly

They were going thru it all and taking photos... No idea what of but we did see quite a few bags with white tablets.. So assuming a drug dealer...

so that was an intersting sight that I wouldnt want to see

again ..

and now ....

I have always fancied David, and when in the US

we went to the Home Depot Centre

but didnt get to see him, or see the actual ground - secruity is very high

but Seb got to shop in the merchandise shop.
Seb has also told me I am NOT to run on the ground
to give him a hug & kiss ..that would be bad ...lol

I am so grateful I can do these things for my children

A day out with my mum...

I went out for the day with my mum yesterday.

we havent been out together in a while, just the 2 of us.

1st stop i took her to was the quilting shop..yes I dont quilt ..lol

but needed to find some farbic & trim for Sebs stocking I have finally

finished. She fell in love with the shop, so many oohhs & ahhhs

from her, she even enquired about buying the quilts.. thought

i was going to score one instead of having to make it. lol

we both fell in love with a little girls quilt.

It has cute little designs in hand embroidery .

The patterns are in a book, so instead of mum

buying the quilt she brought me the book ...

we have a new family member arriving in the family any day now,

no one is mentioning anything about it being a boy..

we are all hoping for a girl .. we only have 1 girl, Mad so

far out of 4 .. but if it is a boy, he is still be

dearly loved..and there is a boy pattern in the

book too ..lol

I saw it made up and its so cute,

and I love anything to do with

Christmas..

its my favourite time of year..apart from

both Mad & Sebs birthdays ..

once again the glare is there ..

after leaving the shop ..and yes with what I needed,

we went to a really nice pub for lunch,

nicer for lunch then dinner as they have live bands at night

and not a place to meet friends for a chat ..

we usually meet my brother & sil there too,

& mum often goes with her sister & friends ..

we walk in , sit down, we know the waitress

as she is friends with my brother & SIL

she asks mum " maz your usual.. a shandy ?" ...

OMG my mum is known in the pub scene...lol

we had a really nice toasted BLT with chicken & advocado and

the best chips/fries ..

the waitress then bring us out 2 pieces

of sticky date pudding .. last time mum went in

it was her friends birthday, she made one of her cream sponges.

There was heaps left over and the birthday

girl couldnt take it home, and mum didnt want it.

so the waitress, chef & pub owner

came out and had some.

The owner was there yesteday, recognised mum ..lol

and gave us the dessert as a thankyou ..

a very nice and filling lunch.

then onto spotlight...no dmc thread in the colour

I wanted, mum picked up more wool ..for a non knitter

as she calls herself she is worse than me for her

collection of wool...

then a quick stop at k-mart, supermarket

and back home ..

great day out with my mum ..

I found this while cleaning up

on the weekend. i forgot I had it.

My Great Grandmother

Euncie Ada Drucella

made it. No idea when though.

its made from old greeting cards, covered

in a plastic then crocheted together.

the outside has faded a fair bit, but the inside still

bright and beautiul.

I can remember she used to keep this on her dresser in her room

and it was full of bobby pins and hair nets. she had long very thin grey hair.

she would plait it every morning, the plait would be

half way down her back, then she would roll it into a bun

and place bobby pins in it to keep it in place, then

a hair net over the top.

The hair net..i have no idea why she wore these ..

she was also a cook..not a chef back in her day

in an Adelaide hotel.

She was a fantastic cook, she is the one who made the

christmas puddings.

she also crocheted, i have a few of her doilies around somewhere.

she also crocheted a huge afghan.

when she died, my uncle took it..no idea why as he hadnt seen

her in over 10 years.

I contacted his family when he died a few years later

to see if they still had the afghan..

no they gave it to the dog as a blanket, then threw it away !!!!

So I am glad I still have all the photos, her recipe books

and other little treasures I can keep safe ..

a morning of baking ..

well let me tell you ..

this morning while cleaning the

screen of the t.v.

Seb walks up and asks .."what's this"??

it's the plastic protective film on the screen

that you are meant to remove when you get the t.v

ok so t.v. is over 4 years old .

so maybe we should remove it ..

took over 1/2 hr to get it off and now sitting watching

shows with the sunnies on..

its so bright ...lol

you can see by the colour of the film, its quite dark,

now we have a bright t.v.

its like new, and no scratches on the screen.

and Milo.

he has this green ball that you put treats in.

we put in a broken up shmacko in it.

it holds it in his front little paws

and get it out with his tongue

keeps him amused for at least...

2 minutes ..lol

Because of a stupid cold... Or minor dose of the flu, head aches, body aches, temps.. Runny nose, sneezing coughing You know the cold/ flu symptoms...

We have a "slice day" at work tomorrow, so I thought I would take chocolate macarons.
1st batch looked like yo yo biscuits..so kids are happy as they will get to eat them.
2nd batch...so much better... And while cooking them and trying to get tea ready who drops a full un opened jar of crushed garlic on the floor... I have it incase I don't have fresh.
Well don't have it now..lol and it went everywhere and all over me.

So I stunk , the floor of the cupboard was covered in glass and garlic but the macarons came out perfect.. they were the main priority being the 2nd batch and wasn't going for a 3rd.

No news here except waiting the arrival any day now of a new niece or nephew.. I haven't brought a thing and busting to buy something..

Soccer for Seb is nearly finished for the year, and I will have my Sunday mornings back.. Not that I do anything, but so nice not to be somewhere 1/2 hour away by 8.30am.

Well the house is cleaned up, doesn't smell like an italian restaurant , I smell better, macarons all filled and ready to go, so I am going to plonk myself and the couch and veg with a box of tissues, butter menthols , and the t.v.

who was very surprised to see a mini version

of himself ...

The 10 years he had been there he had never seen

a costume and was very impressed.

He asked Seb to meet him and he organised

to come along and take photos.

When we left that day, everyone of the

characters new Seb by name and he walked

in the main parade with him ..

and we got it all on video

At the Melbourne Quilt & Craft show yesterday.

The fab 4 met up for the day, and of course we found cake..

well muffins to eat.

we cant have a day out

I have wanted this chart for years, and when I saw

it had been reduced by $35

I just had to get it ..then ...

because I didnt like

the Aida in it I went to

Stitches & Spice and

picked up this fabric to use.

I went a little crazy buying farbic ..

and also encouraged by my wonderful

we can get a huge movie screen so planning

on using that - no idea to the movie yet ..

but they are having a good time, pictures, extra kids here,

kids there, Mad had a "luncheon" for 5 girls from

her school on Monday, they had a great time.

we are home today

and doing nothing..pyjama day I think ..for them, not me..

yesterday a dentist visit, all had been fine up until I heard the word

BRACES ....

NOOOOO......

Apprently both have a "deep bite". Mad needs to see

an orthadontist straight away since she is getting to the

slower stage of growing, so need to make an

appointment, Seb can wait another 2 years as he is still

growing ...

there goes my tax return i think :-(

i was hoping to get an Ipad ...oh well

teeth come first ..but hopefully

she wont neeed them..fingers crossed.

also one of the fab 4 has been very bad..

Last night we went and saw The Sound Of Music at the Astor Theatre in Melbourne,

The cinema was built in the 1930s and still has the art-deco decor of that period. It has the old feel about it, the old chairs that go up when you get off, the "powder" room for the ladies, you can enjoy some of The Astor's famous cake and their famous home made choc top ice creams ...omg their chocolate is so thick ...

They have sessions with all the old classics playing, we have seen Gone with the wind, Mary Poppins -the sing along version,,where the little ball bounces over the words, House of Wax ..cant remember the others ...

the kids love going and its got such an atmosphere about it, when you go see a "golden oldie"

Dead chicken sliding ...

We were having family for tea last night and I was about to wash & stuff the chicken and a friend popped over.
while talking to her while I was doing the above.
I picked up the chicken ready to put in the baking tray, all cleaned & stuffed, when it slipped out if my hands, slid along the sink, straight onto the floor and slid under the chair a few feet away.
friend & I looked at one another and burst into laughter ..

I've never seen a chicken slide so quick and far..especially for a dead one ..

I quickly grabbed it up , the ?? Second rule applied here,

I had too, as I only had a small piece of pork and 3 out of 5 don't eat pork
So I re washed the chickens bottom and then in oven ... no one knew, and still dont lol

2ndly I decided to make a jam steamed pudding which I have made before

Get eggs out if fridge , went back for another 2 and go to shut fridge
And somehow 1 egg "flies" and I mean fly ... out of my hand ....

Think my body was possessed and the egg landed from the fridge to the window sill

another few feet ...and if i think about it the same distance as the chicken ...

Im now thinking ..chicken...egg .... ????? have I done something bad to the poultry

industry ...

3rdly the pudding is boiling away nicely, go to check it and the lid has popped off !!!
quickly rescue it ,and put lid back on , I think it just happened as I open the saucepan lid.

Go to serve the pudding , the top is a mushy slushy mess
Bottom good.... if i had been in masterchef, I would have gone straight to the elimination round for sure , just on looks lol
So I scrape top off, make custard, warm some jam - ta helen xx
And serve the bottom bit ...
Everyone ate it all

so tonight wasnt masterchef in this kitchen ..it was

DISATSER CHEF ... lol

Why is there so much out there right now ...

I cant believe how negative some people can be, and

the first thing that pops into their mind is a negative thought.

I am on a cross stitch board ...and its

a great board and a whole range of topics come up.

but lately everything is so negative ...

There was a post about NY legalising gay marraige ...

my first thought ...

yay to NY...finally and about time,

it effects me in no way, but i am happy for those involved.

but then the people against it come on , and probably like me, have nothing

to do with it, but sprout their bible bashing

and posting bible verses left, right and centre ...and these are so called christians ...

i believe everyone has an opinion, and I respect that,

if you belive in God , fine with me,

but to say some of the ugly things they do about being gay

is not very christian to me ...

their first thought ...

" did he get permission", " hopefully it was in down time".

seriously ... I am sure he got permision, but my first

thought was ..." how romantic and nice" ...not something negative ...

i have also stopped face book, finding that

stressful ..lol

to many whingers, whiners, who complain about the

same old things ...OMG try and at least change

the problem rather than moaning about it all the time ..

also finding little things I might need to know by a phone call / txt/ email

is on FB for everyone to see ... and if I didnt see it

well my fault ...

and things posted that me and most likely everyone dosent need to know ..

so this is probably my negative post,

but i believe you make what you want of your life,

and that some people are just born whingers and aren't happy

unless they can make someone miserable, or play the

"poor me" victim ...

i think its a lot easier to smile & be happy

rather than a grumpy old whinger ..

so smile and be happy ...it so much better .

The concert was fantastic ..

and no more Hannah Montanna ..she's all grown up.

and think that some of the mums

there will be explaining to their 5 & 6yr olds

what "hannah' was doing ..lol

we were in the very back row :-(

but we had a great view of the stage ..couldnt have got any better.

We caught the train up, and then with my 2 of the Fab 4

giving me directions from the station to

Rod Laver arena ..we got there.

( and it was rather easy too..now I know will be doing it more)

once there we went thru the bag check, and they were

taking away..well you had to 'cloak" them, larger cameras

they were only letting in pocket size ones.

Now mine is over 4 years old and a little bigger than

pocket size and some of the smaller ones

have a better zoom than mine ..

but alas mine had to be 'cloaked'

NOT HAPPY JAN !!!

so after doing that, buying a program $25 each ...eeks..

a poster and neckalce..no not for me

for the girls ..

we found out seats...

the support act was a guy Michael Paynter ..

boy was he good, going to search itunes later ..

So with only my magic telephone

aka iphone

i could only get these photos ...

She sang for over 1 1/2 hours..not many costume changes and

nothing you would rave about ..unlike Kylie Minogue ..

we all were up standing, dancing & singing .

I was amazed at how many Myley songs I knew lol

Live concerts are so amazing, if I had the money

I would go to everyone ..

the sound and atmosphere is so fanastic..

i wish i could have that sound system

in my lounge..

think if I did i would be getting complaints

and have no roof ...

home and in bed by 1am ...

This is Seb & Mad at the

Eureka SkyDeck

Melbourne

They are actually outside the building

88 floors up

in a glass elevator type thing

that goes out instead of up/down.

The floor is frosted glass until they get

out, then it changes to clear.

They loved it and ended up sitting on the floor

looking down ...

And is this the most

pathetic dog ever ...

and fell asleep.

Its stitched over 2, with 1 strand of silk ..

I ended up putting it in a hoop

which I never use as its so fine ..and slippery .. lol

Weekend update of the Fab 4 ...

Well the weekend is over :-( and it went so quick ..

but we had a ball ...

one of things we do is have

a GTG project.

this year it was Just Nans Gingerbread Stocking.

we stitched it before we got togther

and then put it togther ..with Corals help ..

this is how they turned out ...

I was also very spoilt by gifts from the girls ...

below is the gift from Coral,

I was in on her secret with the boxes for us girls.

she was like a kid at christmas

so wxcited for us to open our presents..

and yes we were spolit ..

inside the box ...

hand made gifts and little surprises galore

Just Nans little pin keep, so cute and sweet ..

Gift from Helen, which was so appropriate ...

And since we were having a Christmas themed project, she made us a christmas

themed gift bag...

little christmas pins, Threadworx Christmas thread, and some Bohin needles to try.

and for me...choc coated coffee beans...2 favourites in 1 ..chocolate & coffee

and from Lissy .. A Masterchef tea towel and pot holders...wonder how she knew I liked master chef lol

And this beautiful Easter mat she made ...BTW ..she won a prize with this mat ..the prize ..cake of course lol

so thats it for another year,

roll on 2012 for our next GTG

and we are in the middle of figuring out what the

2012 GTG project will be

Think its going to be somethig to do with food ..

Half way thru our girls weekend ..

tonight was takeaway night and an introdution

INDIAN food ...

OMG ..what have I been missing out on ...????

we are having a christmas

themed stitching weekend ..

so we decided to go with a

christmas themed dinner setting

with Indian food and Chinese fortune cookies ..

what to celebrate with great friends ..

food for 4 ......

yes it was and thinking we were going to have

leftovers for lunch tomorrow

...that isnt happening ....

and last night I made chocolate ice cream topped

with Chocolate Persian fairy floss ...

Made some choc mint ice-cream on Friday night ,

next time I will make them smaller, they are a little too large, and cook for

last week. he is roght footed

but seems to get a lot of left foot

goals lately.

this week his team won 10-0

and he kicked 2 goals in the first half,

and then was Left back for the 2nd half.
