Fab 5 weekend

minus 1..so only Fab 4.
is about to start, they have left Melbourne
and will arrive here in about an hour.
I have been waiting for this weekend for so long.
Eating, drinking , laughing and of course stitching
but not sure how much -stitching I mean LOL

I can now show you these....Donuts....

I have one for each of the girls along with some other goodies

waiting on their beds ..

I had Ros a friend doing them for me, but when it took 6 days for the wool to arrive, we thought they aren't going to be back here in time.

So mum suggested a friend of hers, she finished them Tuesday, I went and picked them up, stuffed and beaded them.

So thanks so Ros for her help, and Evelyn who knitted them. xx

Hope the girls like them.

Tall Sundae

Its back....
since I have finished my LK dream/inspire,
and
the Just Nan Floral 15 - just waiting to put it together
this is the next stitching to be finished.
I was doing this as a SAL with bestest friend Helen,
but I took a detour onto 2 other projects while
she stitched away - she is now back stitching
and on the way to have it complete ...

it needs an iron, but its going back on the Qsnap.

and we can put it together..
On the green are little pearl beads,
and on the white there are little green and white striped beads.

Creme Brulee

It was perfect, so creamy and smooth.
I borrowed my aunties Kitchen blow torch.
Made 6 and all gone.
This was the last one to be "torched"
I forgot to take a photo, so stopped and re-started again,
think its better to do a layer sugar, torch, then another layer.
It looks burnt in 2 spots but its the caramelisation of the sugar.
will be making this again.
The recipe is from Gary Meaghans new cookbook,
I warmed the cream and egg yolk mixture first.

Profiteroles....

What to do with a day off..make Profiteroles...
never made them before, so good time as any to have a go.
1st attempt - I used the MasterChef cookbook Simple Choux recipe..
SIMPLE - NO !!
As i was making them I knew something was wrong, but followed the recipe.
after 10 mins in the oven, the little albino shaped doggy poop went into the bin
Went to the MC web site...instead of using the 3 yolks as stated in the recipe, you need to use the whole 3 eggs.
2nd attempt - much better, but not as big as I wanted, but filled with custard cream and topped with chocolate, the kids will love them.
3rd times a charm .... well I'll see :-)
