Bills Orchids

These are photos of my orchids that I was given by my neighbour and good friend Julie. Her father Bill passed away 2 yrs ago and one of his loves was growing orchids. He would also show them and won many awards for them.

When he died the family didnt know what to do with his orchids roughly 50 of them. Julie asked if I would like 1 or 2 , I said yes I would love them as I had met Bill quite a few times. Well i ended up with 15 pots.

I really need to repot them and Julie and I need to get together and do hers as well, but until then all I do is water them, tidy them up, give them orchid food - when I remember ..and they are striving.

Here are 4 stems so far, there are probably another 20 budding now.

Soccer kids

Here are Madeline & Sebastian with their Soccer trophies and medals. They both play in the same team on a Sunday morning.

Madelines trophy was for most improved player ...she doesnt play with her hair as much and kicks the ball more :-)

Sebastians is for The Best Goal keeper. Quite a few people have commented on how good a player he is ..maybe I have the next David Beckham ....

Art work

They might be a bit hard to see but MAdeline did the 1st drawing and Sebastian did the 2nd. They found "how to draw" instructions on Youtube for Simpsons characters and also a few others. Its been keeping them occupied that last few days. Seb really loves to draw, so we went out and brought them both a "special" artists book - $1.99 and artists pencils .99c - what a bargain.

So I have told them they have to sign and date each drawing so in 20 years time when they are famous artists I can sell these ones on ebay to fund my holiday travels :-)
